with any long distance event you have to maintain your energy level untill the last 50 or 25. and thats when u sprint it. DOnt waste all your energy in the beginning because then you will just drowned. before each meet eat lots of carbs (such as; pasta, bread, cheese, potatoes) to get a lot of energy. also listen to techno or other pumpin happy tunes before meet and race. bring gatorade mixed with water to keep hydrated. dont breathe on sprints and you will go faster.
