Uses of isotopes and positive and negative parts about the uses

What are some isotopes that have real world uses ( such as radiation)? and also what are the positive and negative sides of such isotopes? for example i know radiation ( i don't know the isotope name) can make x rays and can help cancer patients but i also know it can be toxic to the body.
